Bates Township is “home” for many of our residents who have descended from the township’s earliest Settlers. Our “roots” run deep. For some this is the community that you have chosen for a variety of reasons to call “home.”

Zoning Board Member Appointment & Zoning Administrator - Bates Township will accept letters of application from qualified township residents to be appointed as a Township Zoning Board Member or Zoning Administrator. This appointment will fill a vacancy.  Individuals should have knowledge of township government and may apply by submitting a letter of interest to: Bates Township Clerk - Attn: Zoning Board Appointment  or Zoning Administrator Position - 3070 E. Hwy US2 - Iron River, MI 49935.  Deadline is Tuesday December 9, 2008 @ 5:00PM. The Bates Township Board reserves the right to accept or reject any application.
